Anybody here do locums?
Looking at doing some locums, particularly weekend coverage, maybe a week at a time, to supplement my salary.
Trying to think of what a reasonable rate would be. It seems like, for this kind of coverage, they tend to reimburse per 24 hours of call.
Was looking at one rural hospital, not a trauma hospital. Sounds like a quiet place, but they are only offering ~$1400-1500 per 24 hours. That seems low - for me to be away from my family, taking vacation, opening myself up to litigation, etc. Even if I'm mostly just sleeping for dollars.
Anybody have any thoughts or advice?
