LOE- how do letters work? so confused! plz help :(

Hey everyone, so i opened up an account today just to at least see what all I need to have filled out and to start thinking about which professors to ask and what to ask my dentist that I've been shadowing but I'm so confused.😕😱 I tried looking up old posts but couldn't find anything close enough...

I understand that you can paper or e-submit and that it's up to the professor but if they paper submit it do they have to fill out a form or do they just mail in a letteR? it sounds like when i add them as an evaluator they will get an email? or i will get prompted to print out the form and give it to them? is there anyway I can see what the form says before they get? like if i enter an evaluator will it email them already or will it let me email them the form? i guess i just want to see what criteria they have to evaluate me on to determine who will do it the best. I'm also not in school now so is it possible to email them this form when I get prompted or can you only print and mail it to them? So many of you have already submitted so I know you're figured it out and I"d really appreciate it if you could help explain it to me a little better than the app instructions?

anyone? i can't call them until Monday and after some great advice i am trying to finish my apps a.s.a.p. now or atleast have it done if not submitted so if someone coudl please explain how the matching forms work?

If you want your evaluator to submit an LOE (electronically) all you need to do is add his/her email address and name and they will receive an email with how to properly submit it. No matching form is necessary.

If you want a LOR (by paper) then you have to do more work. Once you add their name as an evaluator you will see an option near their name where you can click and a matching form pops up. This form contains your unique AADSAS ID information as well as the information of your evaluator. If your letter service, dentist, or professor is dealing with the letter you need to give them the matching form as well. Each matching form will be different for each evaluator. Both the letter AND the matching form needs to be sent at the same time. Once both are received they will update your status. Mine took about 3-4 days for them to update so it's updated often.
