Hey everyone,

So I am starting to volunteer, and did it for the first time this morning (Woo!). I understand I should log my volunteer time and what made it a good experience, but should I have the supervisor at the event sign-off on my hours, and get in their contact information for my records as well? I just want to cover all my tracks to make sure I record my volunteer hours and shadow hours correctly.

Thanks so much for your guys help!

Get the contact information for someone who can attest to your dates of involvement and accumulated hours. Phone or email, name and title are good to have. Even if the volunteer office is keeping track of your hours, these records seem to get misplaced or computer glitched with alarming regularity, so keeping your own records is always a good idea.
