So I just graduated from college and am quite pleased looking toward my first year off. My original plan was to take ONLY one year, but now I'm taking two. Porquoi? Because I decided I wanted to leave the country for a year.
So, here's the deal. I'm leaving on a one-year fellowship to do HIV/AIDS education stuff in Botswana. This means I don't return until next September (2005). I imagine my internet access will be spotty, but not "non-existant." As long as I get my AMCAS in fairly early, will I be OK about secondaries and interviews if I get back in September, or will I get screwed?
I don't want to turn this down- but if I committ, I've gotta do the whole year. Hopefully returning in September won't be the end of the world- but any advice or comments from personal experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You want to get all the applications/secondaries back as soon as possible.

Even if you aren't back in time, I'd say go for it. You end up with two more years of life experience and maturity to add to your application. That won't kill your chances.
