LOI too long?

I've heard they shouldnt be more than a page...

I just wrote a combined LOI/update/what I will be doing over the summer and it is 1 page single spaced with 1" margins all around.

Is that too long? I feel like I can't take anything out 😱

For my school, I sent in my LOI and update separately, on different days. The LOI was about a page and update was about 1/2 page, in bullet point (resume format)

I was hoping that will help them to pull up my file more than once, so they might remember me more. lol not sure if that really happened tho!
