I interviewed Jan 12 and it took them 2 weeks because they had a system malfunction. But I've heard they respond within a week.

Hi everyone! I'm a first-timer here on SDN 🙂 ... Got interviewed 1/21 and received a response (by phone & email) the next day ... they are SO FAST over there!

SDN really helped me out a lot when I was stressing out about the interview - the faculty interviewers really wanted to get to know you so pretty much every question on the list from the previous year's interview feedbacks was covered ...

There is a new facebook group for the class of 2013 - and you don't have to have an acceptance to join - if you just want to comment on interview questions/processes or ask questions about the university etc. - you are still welcome to join ... Let's get this group started so we can have a positive forum to share ideas and information once school starts in the fall! 🙂

interview date: 1/21
response: next day - phone call and e-mail confirmation
the acceptance letter came a few days later ...

unfortunately, i have no idea about future interview dates ... i went to their open house yesterday 2/8 and it was informative BUT they didn't mention any future dates ... they DID say that they had 861 applications to look through, they are interviewing/plan to interview a max of 200 applicants - and they had 75 spots to fill for c/o 2013 ... good luck and i hope you hear back from them soon! 🙂

hey congratulations on your acceptance! that is sooooo exciting! 😀 i totally understand how you feel - i just got accepted too! 😀 if you have a facebook account, check this group out --- i want to do something similar to what the previous classes have done - have something for us to use on facebook that would inform us on class activities, quizzes, tests, social events, etc. ... so PLEASE join the group!

I got an interview for Jan 8th. They called me on Dec 19th (or around then) and then sent me an email to confirm. Anyone else attending that interview?

I see that you have interview at WesternU soon. You'd rather go to Western than LLU?

I registered to give some info about my experience. I interviewed in the morning on Jan 8. The admissions lady told me that the committee would be meeting that friday. I got a call the following Monday that I was accepted. So good luck... they work pretty fast over there.

Yes, they're going slow, b/c I called them, and just like I said before:

The lady said that they are trying a new interviewing process this year and everything is "getting pushed back." Whatever that means. I guess it's taking longer than usual with this new process. She said they pretty much just started interviewing and they schedule based on faculty interviewer availability. She also mentioned that there are plenty of spots open for the class still and they will be interviewing through March. You are supposed to receive an email saying they reviewed your application, then a phone call if you get chosen to interview.

Besides, I'm not the only one who thinks they're slow.

Nope, I am pretty much sure I'll be attending LLU. I just want to see all my options, so if I get invited to an interview, I take it. I might as well try to find the best fit. But prior to interviews, LLU was my first choice (and still is). Western is closer to home tho 🙁

If anyone is curious... just like a previous poster said before about future interview dates, its up to the availability of the interviewers... well here is what they emailed me:

In previous years, we have had a mass interview date twice a month. This year, we have availabilities Monday through Friday depending on when interviewers are available. Scheduling is flexible.

Has anyone else received an interview invitation here?

I just spoke to someone in admission and found out that I'm on the next interview list! Yay!
He was surprised that I haven't heard from LLU yet, but assured me that they'll be sending out e-mail invites sometime next week or the week after.
You should give them a call. He was super nice about it and didn't seem to be bothered by me asking...🙂

Btw, I submitted my application late october (which probably was a very bad idea).

I was wondering if someone can tell me some strengths of the LLU pharm. program/ what they're well known for aside from the seventh day adventist affiliation. For example, USC has the strong networking, Western has the 100% NAPLEX pass rate and block scheduling.

I canceled my interview. I prefer to stay at Western even if LLU goes well so I thought I'd give other people a chance!

And to answer your question meowmeow, I got to choose the day. It would have been March 9th, 8am.

Why did you choose Western over LLU? Just wondering, because I may have to choose between the two schools.

I mainly applied to LLU to expand my chances of staying in CA. I applied to every CA school except Cal Northstate. I like Western's curriculum structure with block scheduling, their emphasis on interprofessional collaborations, and knowing that they have a 100% NAPLEX pass rate. But I'm sure LLU is a great school nonetheless! 🙂

Why is this thread so dead?? For those who have already interviewed here, did they give you a choice of days for the interview, or did you choose any day yourself? I got a missed call today for an interview and since finals week is coming up, I just want to be able to schedule a good time for the interview.

I don't know why this thread is so dead. LLU is a perfectly good California pharm school and it seems like not many people applied there. Or at least a lot of the people I met at interviews didn't apply there. Anyway, even though I declined my interview, they gave a choice of days. Good luck on your finals and interview!

I got the same feeling when I talked to other students as well. Even those that applied to Touro. Maybe the SDA religion turns them off. Either way, I think it is weird only a few SDN students got interviews to the school. Maybe there are a lot more SDA students that got interviews this year. That or most that got interviewed get accepted (as someone told me) so they don't interview as many.

They were very accomodating when they asked me what day I wanted to interview so I'm sure they'll do the same for you ... I'm not sure what days they do their interviews exactly, but they interviewed me on a wednesday ... Just ask them if you can interview on a day that's good for you and see what they say - they're really, really nice over there - so I'm sure they'll do their best to accomodate you! Good luck!

I was wondering that too ... Maybe this year's class is just shy!

They asked me if I would be available for a specific day and, luckily, I was available so it all worked out - we didn't need to haggle over dates ...

If you are seeking just to become a pharmacist, these other programs will help you get there. If you think there is something more to life than just a job where you make a lot of money, try Loma Linda University. If you think Jesus is a big part of your life, you should definitely make every effort to get accepted to LLU.

You're right, the admissions ppl were very nice... they wanted me to go on an interview on a certain day and I said I couldnt, so they went and called the professors to see if they are available any other day. You put it into perfect words... you will get more out of this school than any other. I'm not religious or spiritual or anything though. When did u interview?

I called admissions yesterday. They said they are making final decisions tomorrow and letters will be sent out on Tuesday. I interviewed on 3/5 so I've been waiting awhile.
