Do you go to church? Are you an active member at your church? Does your priest (or other clergy) know you well enough to write you a LOR?

Ask yourself these questions, my son. You will get your answer.

There are pharmacy schools requiring a LOR from clergy? 😱

Now, do they expect you to go to church every Sunday during school year, too? 🙄

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I think Loma Linda in California is the only pharmacy school in the U.S. that requires a recommendation letter from clergy. The school is affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

HAHAHA, that specific school is seventh day adventist...if you DID go to sunday school that may actually be a strike AGAINST you as an applicant:laugh:....they give preference to applicants who are seventh day adventist....so they would go to church on Sabbath which is on Saturday

I applied here last cycle and was accepted, but will be going somewhere else. If the policies don't change this cycle, then you can either get one from the clergy (e.g, priest) or someone who you call a "spiritual advisor" (for me, I chose a family friend who is a Catholic sister). And you don't have to be SDA to get accepted, as long as you prefer (or can tolerate) a faith-based education in pharmacy then any religious background is ok. Be sure to ask Cindy and Kristi (the ladies who work the front office), current students, or previous applicants if you need any more info on the school, curriculum, or requirements.

If you go to church, but don't know the priest very well, you can schedule an interview with him to introduce yourself, and talk to them about what you need, so maybe he can write a LOR based on this meeting. If you don't go to church at all (or are Atheist), then try to find someone who you consider your spiritual advisor. If you don't have anyone, then you're screwed. If you're not religious in any way, then maybe this school is not right for you and you shouldn't apply (not necessarily talking to you, but to anyone who may be in this situation).
