i want to apply to liu , my gpa is around 3.6 , but i have retaken some classes from my freshman year, i screwed my freshman year up
( Physics 1 and 2 ,were C's now A's, Bio 1 was D now A, organic 1 was C now A ), i had just moved back to the u.s after finishing high school abroad, and it took me a while to adapt, im fine now retook the classes did good, any idea what the chances are of getting in, considering i have a solid pcat score and alot of extrac. activities ,and references ?? also, what kind of references should i be looking for, pharmacy related only ? or would m.d doctors work as well ? i worked for a while in a couple doctor officec, and in a pharmacies , does it matter how the reference is related to pharmacy in particular ,or is it any kind of health/medical related ref. . i also plan on doing some research work in the summer try to find me a doctor/professor/company to do research with, im a junior in ufm , and that is my stor 😛 any adviceeee

I'm interested in applying to LIU. In fact, its my target school since its near home and affordable. My GPA is a 3.2 with a major GPA of 2.8. I just graduated with a BS in biology. Obviously, my grades aren't the best. I do have a lot of experience working as a pharm tech for two years. I took my PCATs last january with average scores. Right now I'm taking a semester off just to study and do better on the PCATs. Are there any suggestions of what I should do to increase my chances of getting in? Should I take grad courses to boost my gpa?

LIU is also my top choice. I really liked their mission statement and being in Brooklyn would be a pretty unique opportunity. I wish I knew what to say about their admissions process. Im not too confident about my GPA but my PCAT was pretty high. I guess just boost your app where you can and maybe retake courses if you can. I always got the feeling that GPA was more important than anything else, so if you have time, just prove to them you're a competent and hard-working individual.

yea i am actually retaking courses now, i dont have my bs degree yet, i chose to retake classes now rather than wait ( just to make myself feel better everytime i pull up my transcript, instead of having a heart attack lol ), by that im delaying my graduation, but if it will get me into pharmacy, i dont care, lets hope this doesnt backfire and i get screwed on both sides lol

Trust me I understand. But whenever I start freaking out, everyone just tells me to chill. You can't get accepted unless you just keep trying. All you really need is ONE acceptance. Goodluck man.
