I would like to get a feel for how many individuals in this forum are applying to LIU for entrance into the class of 2013, how many have gotten an interview, and what everyone's GPA/PCAT scores were. Also if you did receive an interview, would you please tell us what you thought about the campus, the program, and the interview?

I applied
No interview yet
3.9/88

I am fairly hopeful, because I believe they are holding interviews up until mid April or thereabouts.

If you read the "Low GPA and PCAT Successful Admission Story" thread, you will see that many schools (possibly including LIU) look at the whole package - not just numbers.
Your GPA and PCAT scores are great and most certainly above LIU's requirements, so don't fret about not being competitive in those areas. Beyond numbers, applicants are considered based on EC's, volunteer/job related time, and personal statement/interview. If you feel you have those qualities as well, you're most likely in the running and will get an invite.
Wishing you luck!

P.S. My PCAT scores are similar to yours/GPA lower/received an interview invite - my volunteer time in local hospital and city residency may have helped to balance average GPA - also spent alot of time on my personal essay. The interview questions are basically similar to what you can find on the interview forum feedback. 😳
As far as the campus - it's your basic city atmosphere (crowded/polluted/easy access to public transportation); if you're not a city person, you may not like the location. Tours of the facilities were not offered during the interview, but I believe there will be an open house this April (check out their website for dates as well as program information.)

Are you an LIU Pre-Pharmacy student?

My GPA is around 3.7, but my PCAT score is way too low.... below 50%.
I got an interview on Feb 7th.
I am waiting for the result.......

Hmm, I dunno why you haven't gotten an invite then. I'm sure you did but have you submitted the secondary/supplemental application?
I assume you mean the undergrad app for LIU that they call a secondary. I did submit that and checked through the list of steps posted on their website. I can't think of anything I am missing.

I have been noticing that everyone who has received an interview seems to have had their interview on the 7th of march?

How are your Extracurricular Activities, Personal Statements, Letters of Recommendation?

Grades and test's aren't everything.

EC activities= I worked in a daycare for the first two years of college and as lab tech for the last year and a half of college. Until I moved away I volunteered for 6-7 years in an children's outreach that ran every saturday for 4-5 hours. After I moved I volunteered for the pre-K nursery at my church.

Personal statement= how can I sum it up... I have seriously considered multiple professions and I found that a pharmacist suited my personality and professional goals the best.

Letters of recomendaion= my current PI (boss) who runs a yeast genetics/biochem lab and teaches biochem at the medical school, and my organic chemistry teacher. Both of whom know me well enough to give an honest, and I suspect positive, recommendation.

Right now I am still working as a lab tech, but I know this isn't the environment I want to work in permanently.

Hold up hope..My GPA is a 3.3. I guess my PCAT is ok..lots of extracurriculars, LOR's and good essays. If you are pre-pharm, you have a better advantage of getting in..if you are transfer, I heard it's extremely tough, especially since there are limited seats. You can still get in w/o an interview though..especially with your stats..I'd say you have a really good chance.

I think you should call them up and check on your application. They should have already offered an interview invite. Recheck your email, spam folder etc.
I interviewed w/ LIU back in february (their 1st interview date)...I have the same gpa as you and pcat in the 80s as well. So your stats should've gotten you an invite already.

As far as the actual interview experience, I was actually a little disappointed. Maybe it was due to my interview date being the 1st of this cycle, but I felt there were disorganized. I was hoping atleast for a intro from a faculty, campus tour or something (all those things we take for granted at other schools). At the very least they could have told us what the events for the day were. Nothing of that sort, hence my disappointment.
On the plus side, I did like the easy access to public transportation. My first time in NY and I did not get lost on the subway😀. Also, the school has good security.👍

Trust me I wouldn't have missed it. I am using an e-mail solely for important stuff so I don't even get junk mail to that address.

Ok I took everyone's advice and called. They do have my application and it is "in review". Apparently this week is their spring break so no one is likely to be doing any review until next week. Doesn't make me any less anxious, but at least I know there isn't a red sign on my app saying "SHE FORGOT.....!".

Thanks to everyone who is taking the time to post their information. It is very much appreciated.

No one can get in without an interview! An interview is a requirement for not only transfers, but LIU prepharms as well.
I'm pretty sure that ALL pharmacy schools are required to interview ALL applicants being considered for admission. Don't know how long this has been in effect, but a few years back phone interviews seemed to suffice.

Glad to see you followed up with LIU. You're stats and community service involvement are so impressive - LIU would be crazy not to extend an invite. Wishing you luck in getting that long awaited e-mail😉
