Young man with long QT syndrome and pacer. Severe radicular pain.

As I recall both Vicodin and gabapentin are safe with this?

No Methadone of course but are there any other common meds in pain he can’t take such as Vicodin, gabapentin, versed and fentanyl?

Best to simply look up drugs that make QT longer. Got this from Google AI. //
Many drugs can prolong the QT interval, including:
  • Antiarrhythmics: Amiodarone, sotalol, dofetilide, procainamide, quinidine, and flecainide

  • Antipsychotics: Haloperidol, ziprasidone, quetiapine, thioridazine, olanzapine, risperidone, and droperidol

  • Antidepressants: Amitriptyline, imipramine, and citalopram

  • Antibiotics: Macrolides and fluoroquinolones

  • Other drugs: Methadone, sumatriptan, ondansetron, cisapride, arsenic, and tyrosine kinase inhibitors

Women are more likely than men to experience drug-induced QT prolongation. Other risk factors include: Hypokalaemia, Hypomagnesaemia, Renal failure, Cardiac failure, and Hepatic failure.

It's important to be cautious when taking multiple QT-prolonging medications or when taking these medications with electrolyte abnormalities. //

Thank you. I did look up the list. I don’t see those 4 meds on it anywhere

However when I searched specifically drug by drug it seems that hydrocodone and fentanyl are not considered safe but gabapentin and versed are safe.

And then some sources said that fentanyl was safe. A bit confused about that one.
