Sorry to hijack the thread, but through the years I've seen so many threads about residency "swaps." Does that actually exist? I don't think it is as simple as trading places. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'd love to hear some success stories with happy endings for all parties.

According to the NRMP, a 1:1 swap is acceptable if both institutions are agreeable.
