Do osteopathic schools look down upon applicants who have previously applied to allopathic schools? I heard a rumor that adcom's are somewhat negative towards premedical students that are applying to osteopathic schools after failing to get into allopathic schools.

And that's exactly what it is - a rumor! I speak from experience.

The answer to your question is no.

They'll only know if you tell them.

Be honest.

Sometimes the best DO students are those who were originally turned down by MD schools.

But sometimes they are the worst students too.

Admissions folks dont make that judgement for your. YOU need to make that decision.

Best of luck.

Great to have you back, JP!
