You sound like you need a gap yr. Honestly you should be aiming to apply to med school once and well. Take the time to do it right. Don't aim at being a reapplicant from the get go.

You don't need research experience to get into med school (though it's a nice perk). You need shadowing and strengthen some of your other ECs. For now just focus on doing well on that MCAT. Also you can take up a simple retail job in your gap yr if you just want money for some traveling before matriculation.
