Looking for advices (desparately needed)

Hi guys I am pre med major from Pace Uni (NYC) about to start my senior year. Here are my stats

cumulative gpa : 3.74
science gpa : 3.7
MCAT : 27Q

I was involved in two faculty led research. One was very hands on and I am still doing it. The other one had mostly to do with computation and data analysis from results obtained. That onel asted only for few weeks. I have started doing volunteering at a hospital since february. I know my stats aren't that good. So I need to know should I apply this year (for 2011 class) and take a chance or should I wait for another year. What schools do I have a good chance for. I am in real dilemma here. I need serious advice. Anything would help.

Your GPA is fine, but your MCAT scores are detrimental to your chances of an MD program. At this point, DO is an option. I would strongly suggest retaking the MCAT. If you retook the test this year, you could apply in 2011/

For schools that you may be able to apply to, look at your MSAR, assuming you have one.

Also, have you shadowed any MDs or Dos yet? I would suggest doing that as soon as possible.

Besides this, I would also recommend you take the year to improve your app is much as you can (i.e. clinical experience, etc)
