Some of us started an online resource for mainly flight surgeons, but it would also be beneficial for GMOs. As most of y'all that were GMOs know, it's more the admin/logistical side of the job that often makes it difficult. So the goal is to pool our knowledge and resources into one, easy to navigate, easy to read site, that's easy to update as things change. Hence why this site is in a wiki type format.

The site has a pretty good framework at the moment, but it could use some more experienced individuals adding and reviewing content. Of course, all current GMOs/FSs are welcome to join as well, even if you're not sure if you have anything to contribute.

It's currently limited to access with an account only. You can sign up for an account here - Request account - Know Your Chit. If you're going to sign up, please use a civilian e-mail and check your spam folder for the confirmation e-mail. .mil e-mails completely block it, and some providers send it to spam. Please include rank/billet, or something in the request for me to verify you're not spam. It makes it easier to verify against the global.

If you have any questions, please post or shoot me a PM. If you'd like to see it via a trial account username/password, before you sign up, I can send you that via PM.

Edit to add:
Contents of the Wiki include:
-Quick guides for LIMDU/PEBs/IDES
-Study guides for warfare devices (FMF, SWMDO)
-Training topics for corpsmen
-A collection of patient handouts (currently mostly sports med)
-Explanations and requirements of different types of physicals (flight, confinement, separation, etc)
-A collection of blank forms, chits, memos
-How to create your aid bags
-What to do with seriously injured/deceased sailors/marines while in garrison
-Mishap kit and investigation guides
-A collection of pretty much all the website links you'll need in one place, with guides on how to use some of them
-Info on deployments and dets
-Much more

Signed up. It was quick and easy. And the resource looks pretty legit. Definitely something any first time operational providers would want. Maybe even 2nd tour folks. I can see myself just keeping this open on my computer all day, just for the one stop quick references to all the different sites and instructions. Will contribute as I can.

I appreciate the folks signing up (even the Army and Air Force folks). Just to re-iterate, the site is not compatible with .mil e-mail addresses. Please sign up with a personal e-mail to get your initial password.

If you don't want to provide an e-mail, shoot me a PM and I can create an username/password for you. The only issues is that you won't be able to reset your password if you forget it. But you can add in your e-mail later if you choose. All I ask is that you give me some way to verify you're a military doc - I usually check against the global if I don't recognize the name. And if you want to verify I'm active duty I can provide my .mil for you to e-mail. (Promise I'm not a chinese/russian/ISIS hacker).

Bump for the evening crowd.

The Wiki keeps getting more and better content every week. Curious how far apart to space your beds/cots during a field exercise to minimize disease spread? There's information and a reference for that. Deployed in the field and need get a specialist consult? There's a link for that. Going on a field exercise and unsure what sick call meds/supplies to bring? There's a list. CO/XO want unrestricted access to a service member's medical history? There's a DoD instruction that specifies what they can and can't have access to on the site. Overseas, travelling, deployed, etc., and need to know how to use Tricare? That's actually still a work in progress, but a guide is coming soon.

The more active users we get, the easier it is to keep everything up to date and relevant.

Also, if you're one of those folks that doesn't want your e-mail given out to anyone, you can send me a PM here and I can create an account for you manually. The only issues is that in case you forget your password, you won't be able to get the system to reset it for you and email you a new one (though you can add an e-mail to your profile later). And remember, as of now, .mil, icloud, and mail.com address don't appear to be supported. Some .edu domains are also not supported. Trouble shooting it with the hosting company.

Got a couple messages that people were having difficulty signing up for the site. It was an issue with the e-mail server. That has been fixed. Also, you can now sign up with .mil e-mails.

Not sure about icloud, mac.com, and mail.com addresses, but .mil is good to go.

There has been some additional new content added (occupational health exams and physicals go bys (motor vehicle, heavy lift, AA&E, etc), more stuff on physiolgic events/episodes, some new info for different bases you may visit, PFT/PRT policies, special duty exams, and much more. In fact I'm frequently asked questions by new flight surgeons/GMOs and just point them to the page where it answers their questions perfectly. So please look around if you sign up. Just like Wikipedia, not all the content is on the main page. There is a lot of depth to the site.
