Hi! I took an MCAT tutor after not scoring well on my first two exams. I did MCAT Nerds and they were fantastic. They are pricey and if you’re looking for a tutor, then you may have to spend a good amount. I would do a lot of research on this and what your budget allows, as well as your deficits. If you’re scoring a 492, then you need to understand content better, as well as understanding what the question is asking. Once you break 500 and higher, it’s less about content and really understanding what the questions are asking (and how they seem like they’re asking one thing when really it’s another).

I scored well (522, or 99th percentile) after spending a good amount of time researching resources and then making an individualized study plan for myself. I also have a significant background in teaching (8 years full-time) and tutoring (started in high school and continued through college).
Either way, good luck! You can do it!
The biggest advice I can suggest is that you should meet with the tutor and see if they match what you need before you put any money down. Also, email your questions to them in advance, so you don't waste time (and money). There is nothing like watching tutor struggle on your question while they are billing you.
