Hi everybody,

I have a 3.15 cgpa and about the same science gpa. I have 26 mcat 8/9/9 and now am looking for a good post bacc to do. I would love to hear any suggestions you guys could give me. I know a lot of the real good ones have 27 mcat minimums but I just want a fresh start somewhere and chance to prove myself. Thanks!

kcumb has a good program. and with your MCAT you may get an automatic interview during the program.

you mean an smp? Ones with the best rewards are those where you take first year med classes at a medical school. linkages with med schools would be even better.

. Have you heard good things about the one at kcumb?

and yes I mean smps. I was hoping ppl could provide me with names I could possibly get in at. I was thinking Edward via maybe.

I can't speak much more about smp's but I would say the best ones are any in-state ones as they should be cheaper. Look also into the schools that are regional (i.e. preference applicants from southeastern states). It's hard to state which ones are easier for you to get in. There are simply too many variables. As I wrote before, a good smp is one that can either grant an interview or guarantee a seat in med school through linkage upon obtaining a certain gpa
Kcumb seems to be good as i've seen on different forums here. Edward... I think it's one of those regional schools. It's best to check their webpage.

Thanks I looked into the kcumb one And it seems pretty sweet. Hopefully my scores are competitive enough to get in! You never know. Any other suggestions out there? I'll probably apply to the Midwestern one too as I'm from arizona. Anyone know anything about pcom?

You will get into the KCUMB smp easily.

do students who are successful at KCUMB typically have a good chance of gettin ginto their med school?

I was waitlisted at KCUMB and am considering an SMP (both MD and DO) during my gap year to boost my app...I've got a 30 MCAT for what its worth..

They have an extremely good chance. This years requirements for the SMP students is a 25 MCAT and a 3.25 program gpa.
You also need to "pass" the interview but they said you just need to be normal.

The standards could definitely change but with a 30 on your MCAT, I think you'll be fine.

I interviewed here. I'm a very normal and well rounded non trad and I was waitlisted. I don't think it's that cut and dry, unfortunately.

They like their masters students.

Hey man I sure hope so. I'm gonna apply early. I need this! You do the program? Also you know how you need a 3.25 gpa to apply for the regular do school? Assuming I do well in the program. They'll focus on my program gpa and still give me a shot right?
