I'm looking to get involved in some research but have no idea how to begin or where to look. Any tips would be really great!

It depends on what type of opportunity you're looking for. I got my major research opportunities through looking through my school's faculty website in the department I was interested in.the websites usually listed their research projects. I then emailed professors that I wanted to work with explaining my interest and credentials with an attached website. If a researcher had room they would set up an interview to discuss my interest and goals.

For a summer research experience you can do a google search of "Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship" which should provide you with links.

For me finding research was a little like finding shadowing opportunities. You learn real fast that if you want something you have to really go out and find it and get it. I did the same as the above poster, but ended up emailing about 20 different professors who were working on research that sounded interesting to me before one of them replied and got me in the lab. The rest all just ignored me or told me they were full. This type of "cold calling" may not be the best way to go about it, but I was new to the university and was looking to jump in a lab asap. Maybe talk to a professor that you have class with about their research.

Thank you so much, I'll definitely give that a shot!
