So a few quick things about me
My GPA is absolutely garbage (Although I have been improving - I had a 3.8 for my last semester) but it's just at the point where I don't see any way of me fixing it even if I took a 5th or 6th year.
My plan is to apply for a Masters in Biology. I know that some schools do take the DAT in Lieu of the GRE and my DAT score is decent. I also think my ECs are decent and workable (Involved with student government, held numerous executive positions on school clubs, over a thousand hours volunteering at various hospitals, competed on my school's esports team and placed top 8 in North America, etc).
I was just wondering what my chances would be for a Masters and if anyone had any suggestions or advice on what I should do. I know it's a little late into the cycle but there are many schools taking applications. I'm currently looking at Western U, West Texas A&M, and Roosevelt. They have lower GPA requirements although I think my GPA would still be an issue there.
Thanks in advance and looking fowards to the replies 🙂
- I'm currently finishing up my B.S at Queen's University in Life Sciences (I'm Canadian).
- I've had a hard time in first year and a even worse time in second year but I've been fixing things but the way things are, I will be finishing with a GPA in the 2.0 to 2.5 range out on a 4.0 scale.
- I've pretty much accepted there is no chance of dental school but last summer, I decided to take the DAT on a whim. I bought the Kaplan book, studied for 4 days, and ended up scoring an AA of 22 which I think is decent.
