I took biochem 1 this semester and got a C. The C was well deserved given the fact that i wasnt as focused this semester due to family issues (etc.). I"m tryin to decide how i can make my application better. Should I just accept the grade and move on to microbiology next semester and ace it. Or should i prove I am capable of handling biochemistry by taking biochem 2 next semester and getting an A in it?

Edited to add that most of the pharmacy schools im applying to require biochem

Got a B in Ochem in both semesters

which schools are you applying to? the majority that I have researched dont require biochem, however I will say some of the better ones do. Im taking it next semester, and thoroughly dreading it.

I'll be applying to western, Nova, and Palm. There a a few more im thinking about and they also require biochem or cell biology

are you from FL? LECOM doesnt require it

No im in california, but i have been wanting to relocate to florida for many years. 😳 I have considred Lecom too. But I also dont want to put all my eggs in one basket. I guess I am really worried that a bad grade in biochem might keep me out of pharmacy school.:scared:

Does UF require it? Thats probably the most reputable program in the state. I used to live there but I dont really know anything about the FL schools.

side note: you're from CA! You have access to some of the best schools in the country which are public and in state. Definitely something to consider over some bs private school.
