Looks like I'm going to get diagnosed with arthritis, anyone else dealing with this?

I have arthritis in my left thumb from a bennett's fracture, and I will likely need to have my thumb fused to my hand when I'm 40-50... but I'm not too worried. I would ask your primary doc or a specialist about it, as they can probably give you a better idea than a bunch of pre-dents.

Sorry I just left my doctors appointment, I was just looking for experiences!

There are many types of arthritis. I had severe gout in multiple areas on both hands, but never showed symptoms in my toes. The main cause was from eating too much red meat (I'm a huge glutton when it comes to steaks). Now I eat steak in a restaurant once every 2 weeks which was considerably less than it used to be. Just a pain the donkey to deal with especially when you play video games, build computers from scratch, practice archery and etc. Not as bad as having carpal tunnels. Oh the days of physically abusing myself.

I have limited range of flexion (due to injury) in my left index finger. Sucks, but no issues with daily activities. And I got an A in ceramics! Yay me.

obviously not a cure but you need to cushion the symptoms.

I was diagnosed at 8 with systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. It has been a long road since being diagnosed, my luck I was diagnosed with the best of the "types" of arthritis. I have pretty much outgrown all of the day to day pain, but I still get flare ups every couple of weeks, with big ones every couple of months. It is something that happens and you just learn to deal with it the best you can. My arthritis also caused me to have a heart surgery when I was 23, 4 months after my son was born, trust me it was not fun.

At the end of the day, I do not let my previous medical conditions limit what I can do in life. I want to be able to show my children that no matter what happens to you in life big or small, you can overcome it and grow stronger from it.

(ps- I don't believe in any of those natural remedies, take the appropriate medications and you will be much better off)

Just a word of advice, if you think you may be susceptible to problems, especially with hands and back, get your disability insurance before you seek diagnosis.

We don't learn about disability until late in school, which is incredibly unfortunate.

You can get a cheap plan now, with future increases, at a discount (around 30%) that you can maintain for the entirety of your career. Without future medical exams.

Disability will deny based on pre existing conditions.
