Even if your mom is a prominent physician or someone extremely credible, med schools usually don't want applicants to receive LOR's from family members.
Bad idea. Of course your mom will write something nice about you -- it can't even be dressed up to look objective. Worse, though, is that is shows poor judgement on your part to get a letter from your mom. It's a quick way to turn a great application into hamster bedding.
