LOR application question

Hi guys, I had a couple really basic questions about submitting my LOR. I might be overthinking this, but I really don't know what to write for the Evaluations section in the AACOMAS application. Anyway, sorry ahead of time if this is really basic and obvious!

So my first question. Under the tab where you create an evaluation request, it says "Are you requesting a committee evaluation? Y/N" Is this referring to a letter of recommendation from a pre-med committee? Or is this just asking if I want this letter evaluated for my application? Again sorry, if I'm over thinking this. I didn't have a pre-med committee at my undergrad, but I'm not sure if that's what this question is referring to.

Second question: In the same section, it asks for personal messages/notes. What do I write? Am I supposed to introduce the LOR writer? Or is this literally a message that goes to my LOR writer and I should just write him some instructions? What did you guys write for that part?

1. Yes, it refers to a pre-med committee and since your school doesn't have one, you should click No. Most, if not all DO schools will ask for a 2nd academic letter in place a committee letter only IF your school doesn't have one.

2. I believe that section is a message/note that would be sent along with the letter request to your LOR writer. I'm not too sure, BUT...

I highly suggest using Interfolio to handle your letter requests and delivery which is 19$ for 1 yr. You get to keep all your letters in an electronic dossier which can be advantageous in case of any delivery mishaps via AACOMAS delivery service. You also get to keep the letters in case you need to use the letters again as a re-applicant for next cycle.

I also made sure to inform the writer that my LORs needed to be on official letter head and signed.

As far a letters, if I am waiting for for one letter can I submit now and update it later? Or does it all have to be submitted at once?

Depends on the school and when they require letters and what letters they require. Some schools want letters by secondaries and some by acceptance and some with initial application.

Some mention it in the AACOM MCIB (google it), some on their website or secondary app page, and some in there emails after you apply. There are others on sdn who have called/emailed and asked but I haven't seen someone post a formal list yet. You could message them and ask if you find the recent thread. Last I saw posted most wanted them around secondary time, but I do know a few do accept them later.
