I'm applying to Med-Peds residencies. Currently, I have LORs from the department chairs in both medicine and pediatrics, a letter from one of my pediatrics attendings, and a letter from an attending from my medicine AI. My peds chairman's letter was written with and co-signed by another of my peds attendings. Several programs to which I'm applying ask specifically for three letters from "faculty with whom you've worked directly" - is the letter co-written by the peds chair and my peds attending sufficient, or should I ask for a separate letter?

Thanks.

I'm not a "med-peds" PD, but I think you should be OK with what you have described. You have letters from both departments, as well as a letter from an attending with whom you have worked from each Department. One suggestion might be to contact the program that has the "3 letter..." requirement to ask for clarification.
