The past few years I have made good connections with most of my professors. So far I have a committee letter that "can" be written on my behalf by my Biochem Prof, a LOR from the President of the CC I attended, but I am struggling to find a LOR writer from a science Prof. Most of my time was spent inside the Kinesiolgy department, so I never had a lot of time to form a bond with any of the science professors. Will medical schools accept a letter from a professor in the kinesiology department or will I have to scramble to find a BCPM letter? I can contact my biology professor from the CC I attended, but we haven't spoken in 3-4 years. Maybe he remembers me lol.

Kin, at least in Canada, is part of either the faculty of science or health science. My references were from kin professors and they were accepted as science letters. You should contact schools for specific clarification though.

I would say the kinesiology professor's letter qualifies as a science LOR. Keep in mind AACOM's definition of "science" has broadened significantly in the past few years. Also, I think most DO adcoms have the foresight to realize that a letter written by someone that is a professor of science of the human body is just as valid or even moreso than someone that teaches organic chemistry or something of that nature.

I had problems with LORs at one school last cycle because I didn't have a letter from a science prof though. So take this advice with however large a grain of salt you deem appropriate.

Thank you guys!!! I was going to contact my kines professor, but after reading a few threads I realized how important a Biology/Chem professor would be. Thankfully my Bio professor still remembered me and is willing to write a good LOR on my behalf.:claps:
