LOR from psychology and math count as LOR from science profs?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I don't think they will. I believe they would like to see science LORs as in the bio/chem/physics classes. Psychology doesn't even count for your science GPA because it falls under "non-science", whereas math is under "other science". Good luck 🙂

what about ecology or animal science prof?

can I get a rec letter from an earth science or planets professor? (astronomy)

You could, but I wouldn't recommend it for your "science professor" for the Astronomy course. I think Astronomy also counts for "other science". Try getting someone from bio, chem or physics for your science LORs. Gluck!

Depends on the school. Columbia required 3 science professors, but one of mine came from a psychology professor I took two courses with. I did do research in his lab though.

Also, as of this application cycle, specific psychology courses that had some relation to biology did count into the science GPA.

certain bio-related psych courses count as science gpa and are categorized under Biology.

I was wondering the same thing. Since these classes do count towards science gpa, would it counted towards a "science" professor?

Oh, then that's something I'm not familiar with! Try asking your top schools if those professors would count or not. 🙂
