This application cycle is not looking good for me right now, so I'm planning to reapply this upcoming year. I finished up an internship a month ago and my supervisor said that he and my co-workers really enjoyed having me and had nothing but positive things to say about me. I worked closely with him for about 3 months and it seems like he would be able to write about my character in a LOR.

While I still have around 13 schools to hear back from, should I ask my supervisor to write me a LOR? Should I just say that I AM reapplying and leave out the part where I might actually get in somewhere (hopefully) and not even use his letter?

Also, my "old" letters will probably be around a year old by the time I submit my AMCAS app in June. Should I get new ones even though my relationship with them hasn't changed in the meantime? I can update them on what I've been up to, but what's the point if they just regurgitate it on the LOR?

Thanks in advance!

Why would you need new letters? Just reuse your old ones

I say get one. You need something fresh in your application. You also might ask for revised letter from your existing writers in order to see if they can enthusiastically endorse you.
