Columbia University website says...
"Three CONFIDENTIAL letters of recommendation from science professors or one composite letter from a pre-health committee."

If I have TWO letters of recommendation from science professors and ONE letter of recommendation from a dentist, do I not meet the requirement?
Do you guys know whether they mind 2 from science and 1 from dentist?

Thanks!

I am not very sure, but they don't seem to be too strict with their requirement posted on their website. I've heard that some people get into Columbia with 2 science letters as long as they have three academic letters. But these people seem to have solid stats (i.e., 3.7+ GPA, and 22+ DAT).
So I think it would be safe to get one letter from non-science professor if you can't get third science letter.

Hope this helps you, and please someone corrects me if I am wrong😉
Best of luck!

Good thread, I am curious about the exact same thing. I have 6 letters of recommendation. 2 science, 2 non-science, 1 dentist, 1 dean. I'm currently on a wait list for a committee letter interview at my school. They said I should be receiving one pretty soon. They didn't specify a date though. Do you think it would be better to just release those letters of recommendation now and get my application to Columbia in sooner or wait out for the stronger committee letter that I'm not sure how long will take to be available by the time they get through interviewing me, etc.? Thanks guys!

Yikes. I only have 2 academic letters and 1 dentist letter. Definitely cannot get a third academic letter unless I apply late. 🙁
I hope someone can tell me whether they got accepted with 2 academic letters!

Wow, that's a lot of letters.
Are you 100% sure that the committee letter will be stronger than the letters you have?
I don't see the necessity of waiting for a committee letter and risking late application, especially since you have enough letters.

I'm not sure since I can't read the LORs but I think it will be. I just emailed my health professions office with the same question and they replied

"For the dental website, we can add ONLY ONE PDF with your letters....

Therefore, you must wait for the Committee Interview, otherwise we cannot add it later. Sorry. 🙁

And right now you are number 9 on the waiting list, so I expect you will be called shortly."

I guess I'll wait. Thanks for the help!
