My school destroys all LOR's from previous application year. I had a couple awesome letters that I wanted to re-use this year. Luckily I have a copy of one. My school won't accept it if it is writtem before July of this year. I'm pretty sure ERAS doesn't care though. Do you know if ERAS will accept the letter directly from me rather than my school?? And do you know if there is any ERAS rule on the date the letter was written?? thanks!!

bump.. anybody?

ERAS doesn't accept LORs directly, you have to go through your Dean's office.

I doubt there is a rule on the date the letter is written. My school offered to dig up my letters from their archive (all much much older than one year) if I wanted to use them.

You do have to send to your med school.

I think your best option is to ask the faculty who wrote the letters if they still have a copy and if they would mind submitting them again (with a more recent date.)

Very strange that your school won't accept letters written before July of this year. ?!
