Hi SDN,

If I re-apply, should I request that my LOR writers draft a new letter, or is it fine to re-use their letter from the previous year if they have it saved? Does it matter?

It depends on the school. I got most of my letters and and decided to wait a cycle before applying. Most schools didn care - but check their reqs. Baylor said no letters older than 1 year, so that was unfortunate. Also, you may need to get an updated committee letter (others may know more than me about this one), I had some 1+ year old letters but a fresh committee letter.

Oh yea, I mean I would give them a new Letter Request Form and submit a "new" letter for this application, but I was just wondering if the content of the letter can be the same as last year or if I should tell them to re-draft the letters.... Also my undergrad didn't do committee letters.

Thanks!

I would check with the specific schools u plan on applying to. But, if your letters are dated, I would have your writers update the letter. Assuming you have done new things over this past year, it may be beneficial to you to get an update.
