I'm starting on geting my LORs and I had a quick question. Is there a limit on how many one should send. I worked for 3 different medical facilities between ages 16-19. Worked for the past 6 years for a large radiology group as their direct administrator, transcriptionist, quasi-accountant so I have strong relationships with 13 docs plus the ceo. How many LORs is too many?

5 is normal. I think 6 is pushing it.

Depending on how old you are now, I would not send any LOR from what you did between 16-19 unless it was truly exceptional.

Also, if you get multiple LOR from the same organization (the radiology group) it's less useful. You might still want to do it if they knew you in completely different environments within that organization, but it's going to be of decreasing value.

Just make sure to get 2 LOR's from two science professors who've graded you in a course and 1 LOR from the humanities. Everything after that is your choice. However, as someone else pointed out, you wouldn't want more than 1 LOR from the same organization. Most schools will only accept a certain maximum number of letters and ignore the rest.

I agree w/ these two. Just get one from the person that will know you the best in the most positive way

I will probably get two from my company, the ceo and my neurorad, she was on the admitting board for UT med. I suppose I could have asked her but she'd wonder why I didnt find out on my own... SO thanks guys!!!

It's always good to ask the person if he can certainly write you a positive letter or not.
