Okay. I've been wondering a lot of things lately about Anesthesiology and a medical career path in general. I'll start with college. What classes are good electives to take? What are some majors that could pertain to my job and that are enjoyable, too? What do MCAT scores mean? (like.. what do the numbers mean, its like B19 V3e94r329r2- and it confuses me.) k.. for Med. School. Will I have to travel around the country for interviews or would doing it in my general area (I.E. a few states close) be safe? When should I apply for Med. School during college? How competitive IS it really? What's the hardest/easiest class you take in Med. School? What electives in the final year are good for Anesthesiology (Besides Anesthesiology or Pulmonology.) Where do you live during med. school? How hard is it to get into a residency program? What else do Anesthesiologists actually do besides put people to sleep? Where do they work? How stressful is the job? What kinds of math are involved?

Okay. Thanks for your time reading/answering. It's really appreciated. I do a lot of research. I'm going to be a senior in high school and I'm really dedicated to trying hard to make better study skills and take harder courses so that I'm prepared. I'm very into medicine, I volunteer twice a week at a local hospital and I love the setting. Oh, and one more thing..

Who likes Nip/Tuck? Thanks again guys/girls.

If you really enjoy your college experience to its fullest potential, you won't remember anything we tell you now by the time you are worrying about which electives to take your last year of medical school. Focus on doing well in college, in a very general sense, then doing the same in med school. The details of which med school, which residency, which electives (are you for real?) will work themselves out if you put in the hard work. Aside from directing you to the premed forums for more detailed and tedious responses, my advice is to go forth, be young, and fornicate.
