Does anyone know if it is possible to become a resident of Kentucky after one year of attending school at Louisville? Or is it possible at other state schools for an out of state student like me?

When I was out there last year they told me they no longer allow that? PM if you have any questions.

I think an interview there would definitely be worth your time. I spent the summer at the UofL Health Sciences Campus at a joint program between the dental and medical schools. I loved the school. It's nice, the sim lab is amazing, and the people are great. There are a lot of out of state students who get accepted at Louisville, but I'm not sure how easy it is to obtain Kentucky residency. I do know of a student there who was from the Indiana side of the Ohio River, still in Metro Louisville, who had to pay out of state tuition and all that good stuff. But, I'm not sure if that was just for his first year or for all of them.

Louisville is worth an interview, but understand that there are alot of things wrong with the school.

I'm only a 1st year at Louisville, but I may be able to answer some questions.

To my knowledge, I will be paying out-of-state tuition all 4 years.

Other state schools will allow you to change your residency status. UNLV is one that I know of.

I'd be curious to know what is wrong with the school.

👍 Same Here....I'm not kidding when every dental student I talked to over the summer LOVED being at Louisville. What are these so-called "problems"? Billermo, I know you've only been there since the beginning of July, but how is it going for you so far? Are you seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for gross anatomy???

Kentucky's pretty tough on students seeking to obtain residency for school. One of the schools has the actual law linked from their website, and it doesn't leave many loopholes.

In my University of Buffalo interview, I was informed that I could apply for state residency after the first year. So I am sure that is the case for all SUNY schools
