Hey all... I was wondering a few things about loupes. Why would someone get through the lens vs the flip kind? What is the diff? Also, I was thinking about designs for vision. (mainly because they seem to be very popular with the dental town crowd) Why is this brand not very popular in dental school? The price? Oh, and when I was looking on their website, I noticed they do not have side shields on them. Can they add these? My school requires them for infection control. Fill me in on the basics from a non-sales approach. Thanks a bunch.

I asked a couple of my upperclassmates
they said to get through the lens cos there are people with flipon which they never use and it is heavier.

design for vision has a good history/reputation to make good loupes. the other two companies that ucla has us to buy are surgitel and orascoptic. personally, i like orascoptic bcos it is more stylish and it gives a good working range and it is cheaper.

This has been addressed several times. Your best bet is to do a search and see what pops up.

Thank you. As far as the other post... not so much. Does it really make a difference if I start a new one? If everyone found their answer in an old post, there would be no NEW ones. Lighten up a little. 🙄 It really is not that big of a deal. There are new people here everyday that may give a new opinion. Nothing personal, I just HATE that reply! 🙁
