Hey everyone, I found out last month that you only have one year of eligibility to take the DAT, so I had two-three weeks to study for my DAT on the 28th, my scores were,

PAT: 16
QR: 14
RQ: 22
Bio: 17
GChem: 18
OrgChem: 16
TS: 17
AA: 17

I scored 15 on my last Kaplan test the day before so I was suprised how well I did on the real thing. Honestly for the time I had I did better than I thought I would and felt like the test as a whole was easier than I thought it would be.

Biology was fairly straight forward as was GChem and OChem.

I was scoring 18's on Kaplan PAT so I was suprised to be so much lower on that.

RC was easy, if you cant hack this part you may really struggle in D-school if a lot of textbook reading is required, this is a new emphasis with UNLV adcom.

All in all I think I could improve enough when I take it again in June, but the biggest thing I think that I brought away from it all was the timing of the test. I had to straight fire off 10 answers in 30 seconds at the end of my QR section because I ran out of time. If you can get your timing down you will do much better than just knowing everything.

hope that helps someone! good luck!

I feel your pain with the scores. I took a lot from it and realized how much MORE time I need to study for this test in order to put up the scores I want.

What do you mean by that you have one year of eligability for the dats?

What do you mean by that you have one year of eligability for the dats?

You have to request from the ADA to take the DAT. When they approve you say its April 1st 2008 then you have until April 1st 2009 to take the DAT.

I didn't know this so I was suprised to learn I had to take the DAT before I was ready.

check the ada website for more info.

Don't we just need to register for the DAT 2-3 months early? Or am i wrong?

Whats 1 year eligibility, Can someone please explain?
Don't we just register/sign up for the DAT 60-90 days ahead of time?

They suggest signing up 60-90 days ahead of time so that you can get your preferred date, as seats are limited.

The one year eligibility starts from the day you register to take the test. Once that period has elapsed, your money is gone.
