Hey guys!

I received a phone call yesterday informing me of my acceptance into Mount Saint Mary's University in downtown Los Angeles.

I also had an interview at U of St. Augustine on 11/30. I was invited to MGH's 12/1 Open House as well.

My undergrad GPA at USC was a 2.97; just wanted to show my fellow colleagues that a low GPA isn't the end of the world.

Congrats 🙂 I also have a low cGPA and had to apply strategically to PT schools.

Did you attend the MGH open house? I was there during the afternoon session. Also which school are you leaning towards?

Yea, I was at the morning session. I came straight from my red-eye flight from Los Angeles.

MGH is my top choice. I'm feeling pretty good about my chances because it seems they don't really care about the cGPA. They look more at your extra-curriculars and teamwork experiences.

I hope we both get in!

What were your teamwork experiences and extra-curriculars? What others way did you do to make yourself stand out??

I wrote about being in a jazz ensemble for 2 years. Also was a Eagle Scout when I was younger.

My main extracurricular was working for USC's Athletic Medicine department for around a year.

I have 1000+ hours working as an outpatient PT aide. I also have 70 hours volunteering at an inpatient hospital.

After graduating, I took a total of 7 classes at my local community college. I got 6 A's and one B; most of those classes were prerequisite retakes.

If I were to make one recommendation, the most important thing on anyone's PT application is probably the prerequisite GPA.

I’ll add to this thread in regards to lower-ish GPA. Mine was around a 3.2-3.35 depending on the program.

Had a couple interviews and an acceptance to GFU and St. Augustine with a couple interviews to go.

Keys for me were to kill the GRE and I had over 5,000 hours outpatient orthopedic hours and 250 inpatient. Along with a lot of interview prep, no reason you shouldn’t be prepared for pretty much any question that comes your way. There’s so much information out there on questions that will be asked you should have at least heard/thought about any question you get during an interview unless it’s way out of left field.

Hey,

I'm interviewing at GFU in a few weeks. How was the interview there? Pretty straightforward?
