Hi, I have a very low science gpa 2.8 and overall 3.2... I havent taken the DAT yet. I really want to get a least a 20 on DAT.. I want to know the time frame to study and also what materials. I want to focus in just a few books / online stuff not everything related to DAT. That can get a bit confusing for me...

I have 11 years experience as a dental assistant , worked at the dental school for about 4 years, I am 27 yes old ( getting old I am afraid I wont get into dental school)..

There is a good reason why my gpa is low and its way understandable but now I am taking classes...last semester I got 2 As and 1 B... and this semester everything seems to be going well .... I plan to take the DAT before june...before I apply because I want to have a time frame to retake it if I need to...

Thanks if anyone could help about the DAT question

Hey there future dentist... don't be worried! Take more science classes to boost that science gpa if you can. I believe people have gotten in with stats similar to your before. For the DAT, there are AWESOME resource guides over in the DAT forum (http://forums.studentdoctor.net/forums/dat-discussions.70/). This sticky is very helpful as well: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/threads/sample-dat-study-schedule.719365/. It gives a sample breakdown.

Honestly I would just browse the DAT forums a bit because there are SO many awesome breakdowns, and you should be able to find one that works for your schedule and budget.

A 2.8 sGPA and a 20 DAT are not enough IMO. You need to get that GPA above 3.0 and probably a 22+ on the DAT to have any chance.
