Hey Guys!
I just graduated from McMaster University with a 3.59 GPA. I understand my gpa is low but it's not because I didnt work hard enough but because my father was battling cancer throughout my undergrad. I was greatly affected by this and yet continued my studies. I don't know if I should have taken the time off. However, this is my current GPA and I do not want to consider any other field except med.
I am to write my MCAT this summer.
The way I see it, I have a few choices.
I can apply abroad (America/ Ireland/ Caribbean)
- The problem with applying abroad is returning to Canada
I can do Masters and then apply to med.
- The problem with doing masters is that you just have an impressive CV but your GPA is still the same
Please let me know what you think. It would mean a lot to me!
Thankyou!

Kinda on the same boat and would love to get some advice. Current undergrad cGPA = 3.43 with a sGPA of ~3.3 depending on how AMCAS calculates it. Currently doing an MPH at Columbia with a GPA of 3.78. I know I can write a good personal statement and have 6 superb LORs. Any advice on how I should be applying? My MCAT is a 512.

You need your own thread!

You already know that returning to Canada is going to be difficult..
