Low GPA High Science GPA

It's hard to say. Can you account for this? Are there reasons why your non-science gpa is so low? Schools have been known to accept a few students with low gpa's but it is really rare and usually they have a very high OAT to offset it a bit. Is there any chance you can raise your GPA? And have you taken the OAT yet?

The fact that you're Woody Allen might raise your chances just a bit.

I have a low non-science GPA because I took my non-science courses several years earlier when I was younger and had to work also, my gpa was a 2.7 (because of 3 Fs). Then I went back to school and started taking sciences and my science GPA is a 3.6 but overall still low. There is nothing I can do about the non-science GPA at this point. will they take into consideration the difference in years?

I bet there will be a school that accepts you with your GPA.

I think Loptometriste is right, there probably is a school that will accept you with that GPA. I also think they'll take your improving grades into consideration. What you should do is make yourself a strong candidate in other areas of your application. Score high on the OAT, shadow and volunteer a lot, and do research if you can. It's kind of an uphill battle, but you can make it. Oh, and something else that may give you hope is that UCB uses the science GPA as a major deciding factor rather than your overall GPA. Though, that's not to say that they don't look at your overall GPA.

Thanks for the replies, appreciate it.
