Hey everyone! So i graduated from a private school in the north with a very low gpa of 2.5. I spoke with the dean of UT houston dental school and he advised me to do a one year masters program. He told me to look into the UT houston system as it is closely related to the dental school. Are these graduate programs hard to get into? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

The masters will make you look good. I say go for it, and it will most likely me harder to get in this year because the economy blows and no one can get a job, so basically everyone is going back to school for their masters. I guess you could say its the new bachelors. But yeah the GRE isn’t that hard from what I hear. Study some and do descent and I’m sure you will be fine. The 2.5 will look better accompanied by some masters level courses.

There are a variety of programs available. These particular schools offer a one year masters and is geared towards those applying to med/dental school:

Drexel
Boston University
Loyola Chicago
Tufts
Georgetown
