Ok, I'm a sophomore at a small liberal arts school, somewhat competitive. Our science program is pretty respected in the south (local med and dental schools add to our GPA for graduating from here). Right now, my GPA is pretty low, 3.4, after a hard semester (organic I, physics I, etc). I am planning to take the DAT this spring, and I start the Kaplan class in a few weeks. I'd appreciate any advice. Also, what are my chances with the low GPA. Thanks~

your GPA is not "low" for most schools. Which schools do you have in mind?

I'm looking at MUSC, UAB, Tufts...pretty much the standard schools in the East.....

it's really not that low. don't worry about it, you'll get in somewhere. If you have a solid DAT score, you're pretty much set (provided you have decent extra curriculars)

Thanks so much!

dude. have some confidence in your 3.4. as a fellow 3.4-er, i wish you the best of luck, and as i always say to jittery predents, keep your head up!

A 3.4 is pretty solid if your school has a decent rep. My GPA is a little higher and I got a ton of interviews even after applying late. If you get a 20+ on your dats and have a solid PS you will be fine.
