I graduated with a degree in Nutrition in 2008 with a 2.85 gpa. Since then I have served as a Peace Corps volunteer for nearly 3 years doing health related projects and education, and now currently work a a public health nutritionist for WIC. I am fluent in Spanish and am certain I could get some pretty stellar letters of recommendatios for PC director, former professor and some MD's I have worked on medical missions with. I am interesting in getting a MPH in global/international health possibly going on into PA later. Do I have a chance of getting into the schools I would most like to attend such as U of M-TC, Tulane, Emory, John Hopkins and would love to hear more. Loma Linda has a Returned Peace Corps Fellowship, anyone have thoughts on their program? I still need to take my GRE. I am just nervous my grades will not be good enough to get into a program I would like to be at. I appreciate any advice!!

I don't know about the Peace Corps Fellowship specifically, but my interview at Loma Linda felt very open and informal. In particular, I had applied to one concentration but realized that I was more interested in another. After discussing it a bit, the interviewer walked me down the hall to speak with someone else. They said I can change concentrations (in this case, it would have even been a degree change from MPH to MBA) and basically told me I would get in.

As for the specific program, you should give them a call, contact professors/current students. If you are interested in Loma Linda, I would also suggest visiting it (if possible) and getting a feel for the campus, lifestyle, etc. It is a nice school, but not what I had imagined.
