I think that with a good MCAT, it's worth taking a crack at an app cycle (but always have a Plan B). Rule out Baylor, UTSW and UT-H. You're fine for any DO school. But beware of those with mandatory lecture attendance polices.

cGPA: 3.44
sGPA: 3.51

I graduated last may, took a year off from school to travel a bit and experience life away from school. Had deaths within the family and spent multiple months out of the country to help out. Taking my MCAT in May. Should I apply to SMP and all of Texas schools?

Just curious, why do you say "Beware of those with mandatory lecture attendance policies."?

You're an adult. Do you really want to be forced to sit through lectures when your time might be better spent studying on your own? This was prompted by a post in the Allo forum the other day, by a student at some penal colony of a med school. I was quite disgusted by it.
