hi so i am applying this cycle and am trying to add more schools to cast a wider net.
i know many people would not apply with these stats but due to many many factors, i am applying. i know it might not work but i am going to try and be prepared for whatever. if anyone has any tips or recommendations for schools to apply to that id have a shot at
im applying MD and DO, but obviously with my stats more leaning toward DO....

cgpa 3.5, sgpa 3.2 (at an ivy, not sure if thats factored in? probably not), post bacc sgpa 3.96
200+ shadowing hours across many specialities/surgical sub-specialites
~2000 clinical hours volunteering in clinic, scribing
3500+ research hours - lots of undergraduate research, junior yr research internship at medical school + publication. currently working as a CRC at a t20 med school. heavy focus on pediatrics. special interest in working with kids with disabilities.
really strong LORs

ofc i know retaking and applying next cycle is my best bet but if anyone has any schools that i should look into please help. thank u 🙂

Obligatory you’d be in a much better spot if you applied next year with a better MCAT. Your reasons for forging ahead are your own so I won’t belabor the point, but you crushed your post bacc so it is a bit of a shame to apply without an MCAT that similarly reflects your level of reinvention.

With that out of the way, what is your list so far? In addition to your states, it’s quite late for MD so I wouldn’t bother much for MD other than your state schools. For DO mostly look to the newer ones
