hi guys,
i think this topic has come up before in passing on the forums but i just wanted to hone in on it to see who was actually in this bucket - you had a low UG gpa 3.2-3.4ish, and a high/stellar science GPA and you were successful in landing interviews/acceptances (either many from various schools or a few from prestigious schools or both). what kinds of schools did you apply to and how were your DAT scores in supplementing the GPA?

ive found that this could come about for various reasons - change of major, post bach w/ no previous science background, just better at science, etc..for me, will be a low UG gpa in business brought up by strong performance in science classes during post bach.

thanks in advance

3.2-3.4 isnt incredibly low...

Generally a 3.3-3.4 isnt a low GPA. I would consider low 3.1 or lower.
If your pulling a SGpa of about a 3.9+ I feel you should have no problem with getting into a dental school. SGpa is just as important, if not more important than a CGPA

Yep, some schools place more weight on science gpa than overall gpa.

Not a big deal. If you don't go for your MBA, you will never see another business class for the rest of your life. Also schools also look at trajectory of GPA (Are you finishing out low or high).

i guess my main concern is not that i won't get any acceptances. the state schools i'm looking at definitely accept people with overall gpa's around 3.4. i just want to know what my potential will be for more prestigious and out of state schools.
i'd hate to name drop so early along the process (esp bc i havent even taken my dat yet) but just a few schools, for example-penn/columbia/any of the UC schools. those would be my reach schools.
