Well what exactly constitutes as a borderline GPA and an MCAT with 3 good subsections and 1 bad subsection. Given this is SDN and there are frequent threads asking about retaking 34 and 35 MCAT's and where people will complain about their 3.75 GPA's as being low the actual numbers matter.

As for your list, I don't think I would go with Cooper, TCMC, Arizona, Washington and possibly Va Tech. Also only apply to SIU if you are in the southern part of the state.

Thanks for the reply. For what constitues my stats, when I talk about borderline and median I mean based on national averages from AAMC, not by SDN standards. Why do you recommend those changes?

That again says nothing if you want advice that will help you playing coy about your stats and not listing them isn't the way to go about it.

Like I kind of suspected your definition of borderline and what others is varies. Your stats are near the average MD matriculant. You'll be competitive but how low is the psych section? Sub 50 percentile? Sub 40 percentile? It's relevant.

For more schools to add here some to consider. And yes I would still cut the schools I mentioned above as well as Central Michigan:

Temple
Jefferson
Tufts
Oakland
Saint Louis
Penn State
Vermont
Eastern Virginia
Miami

That's why your psych subscore is important. If it is 50th-60th percentile along with a 31 equivalent you'll be competitive for those schools(although Miami is a very competitive school). If it is lower than that(say like 35th percentile or something) you definitely need to do some readjusting to your list. Again, if you want people to help you this whole being coy act has gots to go. List the info about you like people normally do in these what are my chances threads.

Hi there.

I agree with everything @GrapesofRath has said. The chances of anyone being able to identify you based on your stats is effectively 0, but our ability to advise you is severely diminished without adequate information. We are happy to assist you in constructing a list, but doing so based off of limited information means that you won't be getting the best advice we can give.

You are still being vague...you repeated your post lol
What is your psych subscore and overal percentage for that section?

In addition what are your ECs? It's the whole package that's important. Have you submitted your primary yet? Are you verified? If you want help you have to help us.

IF you are an average student, the try:

Albany
Central Mich.
Rosalind Franklin
Cooper
Creighton
Drexel
Quinnipiac
Loyola
Med. College of Wisconsin
New York Medical College
Rush
Tulane
Virginia Commonwealth
Wake Forest
Western Mich.
Oakland-B
VCU
EVMS
U Miami
Your state school
Any DO school

Interview rates by themselves can be deceiving; you have to look at # matriuclants/apps.

Note: family ties mean nothing unless you grew up in the state, went to school there, or spent other significant time there. Your dad living there means nothing.

Going by SDN standards, I'd say decent ECs. I've been verified since apps opened up, I've just been delaying adding the schools. All subscores 90+ except psych which was between 50-60, which I think is a 7 or 8 so I might run into screening problems.

Thanks for all the replies.

50-60 percentile range is around a 9. You're fine

My updated MD list:

Albany
Rosalind Franklin
Creighton
Drexel
Quinnipiac
Loyola
MCW
NYMC
Rush
Tulane
Virginia Commonwealth
Wake Forest
Oakland
Eastern Virginia
Temple
Vermont
West Virginia
SIU
UofI
IU
Cooper
GWU
Georgetown
TCMC
Western Mich.
Pennsylvania State
Marshall
Central Michigan

Anything that I should obviously get rid of/add?

Cooper Marshall and Central Michigan I would ditch.. Not sure I would keep IU or TCMC either. Maybe not WVU. Only apply to SIU if you are in the southern part of the state.

Edit :Overall solid list though. You should be competitive. If you are from Southern Illinois even more so.

Agree with deletions above. If you're looking to add schools, WVU and Hofstra (slight reach with your MCAT) are possibilities.
