Hey guys. I am in need of a solid kick-in-the-pants here.
Just started M3 and having trouble focusing and putting in the hard work to study outside of rotations. I did well on step1 because I studied like a mad man from day 1 of medical school. It was overkill honestly especially because I'm not really interested in anything competitive. So now the pendulum is sort of swinging back the other way and I'm too dang lazy.
Today I took a practice shelf half way through my rotation, hoping to tank it and scare myself into studying, but unfortunately I passed no problem and have been watching youtube videos and perusing sdn ever since.
I'm hoping some of you who are m4s or beyond can scare some sense into me about how important step2 is, how doing well on the shelf exams will set me up for success, how clinical grades are more important than step1 scores, etc...
