I have a very low score of 77 in Part 1... Can a better part 2 score help me in getting into a dental school??

I don't know if you know it already but if you haven't taken part 2 last year you won't have a numeric score, they've changed it to pass/fail...

If you have already taken part 2 and it's a better score than your part 1, it will depend individually on what each school is looking for. Hard to tell.

If you have dental experience from your country and if you have worked as an assistant in the USA,you stand a chance of getting in. there's no harm in applying. some people do get in even with a low part 1 score.

I know someone with 77 got interview ...do not loose hope, just work on your resume and ofcrs pass your part 2....

I had a score of 78 in Part 1 and no Part 2. But still got an interview at Colorado. The schools are looking at the whole package and not just the scores. So if you have a good GPA and other attributes like Toelf, presentations and the like, then you stand quite a good chance. All the best.

You dont have to worry about the scores now bcoz even if the school receives your numerical scores; the main admissions committee will only be informed that u have passed ,nothing like that they will see ur scores.All the best.

Congrats .. pl advise me.. I have done BDS in 1995,and thereafter have teaching and clinical experience about 15 years..but in USA i have only DA experience..Please advise what do they look for though i hav teaching experience for about 7 years...dont hav any prsentations etc..can u pl advise as to what shd i be doing here to update my resume.. Whish are the easy going colleges for me..my ndde score is 83,

I would recommend that you apply for schools like NYU. I have seen people getting in NYU with exact or a similar score and experience.

From this year NYU has not NBDE part 1 as the eligibility criteria but DAT......so its more difficult then NBDE .....preparations....any other suggestions are appreciated.

I took DAT few days back .....its really not tough .....just try u can do it in a month ......u can see my scores and post on DAT for NYU thread
