I just took the DAT and scored:
Bio-21
Gchem-22
Ochem- 22
TS- 21
PAT-19
RC-26
QR-18
AA-22

I know PAT is important, but is a 19 PAT low enough to prevent me from getting into dental schools?

Thank you! I was a bitt worried when I was comparing my scores to some of the amazing scores I have been seeing posted on here lately.
Congratulations! Your scores are excellent and you should be very proud. You scored high where it counts. Wow! Fantastic reading score and sciences, dental schools will take notice.

Not all students post scores on SDN, the vast majority do not. I talk to thousands of students in the course of a year and you have nothing to worry about.

Enjoy your summer, make sure you have a strong personal statement and complete application.

Wishing you the best..Nancy

Thank you for the words of encouragement! I'll be sure to take your advice.

Your scores are solid! I'm going to focus on my PAT (yes I did horribly here but whatever) the least and my BIO the most on my retake to be honest.

19 is good. But that 26 on the reading will impress a lot of dental schools. A representative from a dental school actual told us once that his dental school actually pays a lot of attention to reading. If you don't mind me asking, what your method for the reading and how did you approach studying for it?

My tactic:
Read the first 5 ish questions, then start reading the article. Reading a few questions ahead well help you realize when they give you questions that are out of order from which they appear in the article.
But I basically just read through, answered them as the appear, mark the ones I couldn't find. once I had read the article through, I went back and did S&D.
Oh, I also, labeled my paper with 1-20 for each article, and after each paragraph I would write 2 or 3 important words about that paragraph, that way when I went back for S&D I knew where to look.
Luck, was a big factor here too, 2/3 articles were on topics I was familiar with, so it made answering questions easier.

This is all based of someone's RC breakdown and youtube video, but I can't remember where I saw the post, or the name of it.

I hope this helps!

I found the video !

Thank you! I'm glad it's finally over
I know right?! my science scores are average, but like you, I did well in the RC. I was so glad when people were telling me RC is highly looked upon! Are you applying this June?
