Hello,
So i just took the PCAT yesterday and I totally bombed it, i mean BOMBED it.
Here's my scores
Bio: 9 :vomit:
Chem:32
Reading: 44
Quant: 21
overall: 21% 389 :bang:

I will admit that I used Kaplan but I did not study as much as I thought. I am a Bio Major but more in plants and the questions were a lot of clinical and anatomy questions. With the math I ran out of time and guessed the last 15-20 questions.

My question is, I am a Senior this year and I rescheduled to take the Pcat this September 8th and then maybe again in late October. My GPA is 3.4 and I have a lot of EC and good letters of recommendations from current pharmacists. Realistically I dont think ill hit the 70% mark by end of October.

Is there any hope for me on becoming a pharmacist and entering a school this next fall? I need advice and I need tips on how to achieve this. I know you probably think I am dumb, but I am honestly just not a very good test taker and have testing anxiety. PLEASE HELP ME.

Hey there. I'm on the same boat as you are. I took my PCAT today and needless to say, I did horrible. It's my second time taking it. The first time I took it i wasn't prepared at all. So i used it as a guide to know what to expect. Well I felt like I studied my butt off, by the way I'm currently taking summer classes and working a full time job as a tech. But I guess all my studying wasn't enough. I scored a 20/384....so there you go. I hope you feel alittle better. Now you know you're not the only one. I did not realize they did away with the Verbal section. I almost thought I had skipped it. But I just read about it.
I was really thinking I was going to do well. I don't know where I went wrong. I ran out of time on the Math section as well and guessed on alot before my time ran out. UGH....anyway....I have the same questions as you do. I'm thinking of registering for the one in October/November. I guess my only advice to you is to not give up. We shouldn't give up. I'm not going to lie I still feel pretty bummed out but the only thing we can do is try again. I mean if you really want to go for pharmacy still.

I dont think you should give up. You have a decent GPA, and pharmacy school now a days favor EC AND you have letters from pharmacist (which I dont have). But with your attitude saying you can't hit 70 percentile by October is not the attitude you should be going in with. Since you already scheduled for the next PCAT, download a countdown app on your computer and phone, it will remind you the days are going by especially when it hits two weeks before. I have a lower GPA than you and studied two weeks before and did surprisingly decent in the sciences, but horrible in CR and math so I have to retake it also. You say you're a senior this year, if you dont get accepted into a school this fall you'll be out of school for a whole year before getting into the next cycle. We can do it!

What did you get on PCAT if you dont mind me asking. Also how did you study?

Do you think it matters having that low of a PCAT on my record? I mean i figured if I took it a few more times and showed improvement then that would be ok then right? Im just worried because my score was so low. 🙁

Most schools look at your highest/most recent PCAT scores. I would e-mail your preferred school and ask. I used Dr. Collins to study, and got 86 in CHM and 75 in BIO, I was surprised cause I do better in my bio courses and struggle to understand chemistry but this PCAT bio questions were difficult IMO, I wonder if they change the content around for each round of test?

So you think I should order Dr.Collins? I Used Kaplan but I felt like the questions were mroe clinical than what kaplan taught me. I struggle in chemistry too which sucks. I have not taken my Ochem series yet and my gen chem was 3 years ago so I forgot how to do stuff. I just felt like Kaplan didnt really help me prepare for this test.

I took the PCAT today, and needless to say my results were way worse than I expected. I plan on retaking it in October, but I need to know better ways to get prepared. I used Kaplans 16-17 edition, but it obviously wasn't enough. Is it worth it to buy Collins? I hate to spend the money on it and it not be worth it..

I took the PCAT last year and only used the Kaplan book to study. Worst decision ever, I did AWFUL!!! I've been studying Dr. Collins now and I hope it helps me out :bucktooth:
I'd buy Dr. Collins, you never know, it might be the thing you need to boost your score!
